1. Download the installer
- Click «Download» on the homepage or the download page;
- Save EZpos-Setup.exe (~30 MB);
- If the browser warns «uncommon file», choose «Keep / Download anyway» (no digital signature — normal).
2. Install
- Double-click EZpos-Setup.exe;
- Follow the wizard (suggested: C:\EZpos — avoid Program Files);
- The EZpos icon appears on the desktop; double-click to start;
- On first launch the setup wizard opens in the browser.
⚠️ If antivirus blocks, choose «Allow»; the software is safe.
3. Setup wizard (first launch)
- Business type: supermarket / hardware / clothing / restaurant — each with preset categories;
- Company details: name, NIF, address, phone — shown on receipts and invoices;
- VAT rate: 15% (Cape Verde standard), 4% or 0%;
- Admin account: username + password (keep it safe);
- Installation role: Server (data + POS) or Terminal (connect to server);
- Done! Login page.
4. Activation
- Log in with the admin account;
- Settings → License;
- Enter the activation code (format SMM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX);
- Confirms the expiry date and authorized terminal count.
💡 Without activation you can use trial mode (sales work, yellow banner). Renew before expiry or sales lock.
5. Adding terminals (multi-terminal)
- On the server, find the IP under Settings → Terminals (e.g. 192.168.1.100);
- On another computer install EZpos and pick the «Terminal» role in the wizard;
- Enter the server IP and terminal name — the fullscreen POS opens automatically;
- All terminals share products, stock and sales in real time.
⚠️ If a terminal cannot connect: check the same LAN and Windows firewall (port 5055).
6. Import products from the old system
- Export products from the old system (Excel/CSV, at least name/code/price);
- Management → Products → Bulk import;
- Upload the file; headers in PT/CN/EN are auto-detected;
- Check the preview and import — categories, prices and stock come in automatically.
7. Printers & hardware
- Receipt: 80mm thermal printer (e.g. EPSON TM-T20), set as default printer;
- Invoice: A4 laser/inkjet printer;
- Settings → Printers to configure and test;
- Barcode scanner: USB, just point at the code.
8. Backup
- Data lives in C:\EZpos\data;
- Weekly copy to USB stick or cloud;
- Updates never delete data, but always back up first.
